The story of Johnson Grading Company began a new chapter in 1990 when it was purchased by its current owner, Gary Pope. Gary's journey started with a vision and a significant leap of faith. At the outset, the company's assets were modest: a single truck, a small dump truck, and a broken backhoe. This simple fleet laid the groundwork for what would become a leading provider of grading services in North Carolina. Through sheer hard work, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to quality service, Johnson Grading Company Inc. has not only survived but has flourished and grown exponentially over the last three and a half decades.
